Asthmatic Kitty Records celebra il decimo anniversario di Carrie & Lowell con un doppio LP ampliato che include sette tracce bonus inedite, un art book di 40 pagine e un nuovo saggio di Sufjan Stevens. L'edizione deluxe offre anche una copertina alternativa: una versione a tutto schermo della Polaroid originale, ingrandita per rivelare la didascalia della foto scritta con la calligrafia di un bambino – "Carrie & Lowell" – che rivela la fonte del titolo dell'album (scritto dalla sorella di Sufjan, Djamilah). La nuova edizione è stata progettata dallo stesso Sufjan: il booklet di 40 pagine contiene vari collage di foto di famiglia d'epoca che abbracciano quattro generazioni, intervallate da opere d'arte e disegni (sui temi della morte, del morire, del lutto e dello stato dell'Oregon), oltre a foto di paesaggi scattate da Sufjan durante un viaggio negli Stati Uniti occidentali oltre un decennio fa.
