Mentre i fascisti del jazz (leggi: puristi) potrebbero urlare "venduto" perché Diana Krall ha deciso di registrare qualcosa di diverso dagli standard questa volta, il resto di noi può godere del considerevole frutto del suo lavoro. The Girl in the Other Room è, senza dubbio, un disco jazz allo stesso modo delle sue altre uscite. Il fatto che non sia composto da "classici" ammuffiti e polverosi potrebbe irritare i reazionari e gli ottusi, ma non cambia il fatto che questa registrazione audace è un disco jazz realizzato con cura, creatività e un'estetica meravigliosamente intima che alimenta le sue 12 canzoni.TRACK LIST
