La sovrappopolazione e l'esaurimento delle risorse naturali portano gli umani a decidere di stabilirsi su Marte, dove un progetto di riqualificazione del pianeta renderà l'ambiente vivibile. A tale scopo, vengono inviati su Marte alcuni scarafaggi mutanti. Nel 2599, un gruppo di giapponesi provenienti da ambienti svantaggiati arriva sul pianeta con il compito di eliminare gli scarafaggi e permettere così l'insediamento umano. Non hanno però idea di quello che dovranno affrontare.
