American Band è l'undicesimo album in studio dei Drive-By Truckers ed è stato pubblicato durante il tumultuoso anno del 2016, i suoi testi politicamente carichi riflettono quei tempi difficili. Il Chicago Tribune lo ha definito "uno degli album front-to-back più forti della band". Rolling Stone e NPR lo hanno ritenuto uno dei migliori album di quell'anno. Viene ripubblicato qui, in un altro anno elettorale, con un LP bonus di registrazioni dal vivo, liner aggiornati di Patterson Hood e riconfezionato con illustrazioni d'archivio di Wes Freed.
